UFC Fight Night 42 in Brazil continues to shape up with the latest addition of a 145-lbs match-up.
UFC officials recently announced that verbal agreements are in place for a match-up between the Philippines’ Mark Eddiva (6-0) and Brazil’s Edimilson Souza (14-3) at UFC Fight Night 42.

Headlined by a Light Heavyweight bout between current TUF: Brazil 3 coaches Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen, the event takes place at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Team Lakay’s Eddiva is coming off a promotional debut victory over Chinese superstar Jumabieke Tuerxun at the TUF: China Finale in March. Prior to that win, which saw the former URCC champ go to the judges’ scorecards for the first time in his career as well, the 28-year-old was inactive in pro MMA competition for over three years.
Edimilson “Kevin” Souza is also coming off a win in his UFC debut. At UFC Fight Night 28 in September, in his home country of Brazil, he scored a split-decision victory over Felipe Arantes. 12 of the 29-year-old 14 victories have ended via knockout.
With the addition, the updated UFC Fight Night 42 line-up now includes:
- Wanderlei Silva vs. Chael Sonnen
- Paulo Thiago vs. Gasan Umalatov
- Mark Eddiva vs. Edimilson Souza
- Elias Silverio vs. Ernest Chavez
- Demian Maia vs. Mike Pierce
