A rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Renan Barao for the UFC Bantamweight Championship will take place at UFC 177 in Sacramento.

TJ Dillashaw vs Renan Barao II set for UFC 177 in Sacramento

UFC President Dana White announced the match-up on Friday during “UFC Tonight” at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Dillashaw (10-2) defeated Barao for the 135-pound title at UFC 173 in a one-sided beat down. No one, but Dillashaw and his camp expected him to win — especially in the fashion he did. The Team Alpha Male fighter knocked Barao down in the first round, but didn’t get the finish until midway through the fifth round.

Barao (32-2, 1NC) was highly considered one of the pound-for-pound kinds after being undefeated since 2005. He successfully defended his belt three times before losing to Dillashaw.

Most people thought Dillashaw would take on Raphael Assuncao in his first title defense, as he was the last man to beat him.

UFC 177 goes down on August 30 in Sacramento, California.
