UFC Fit Review – Weeks 6 & 7

The UFC FIT program is broken into four, three-week segments. Picture building blocks, where each one stacks on top of the other. UFC FIT focuses on building a solid foundation in the early phases to develop strength, flexibility and conditioning that will be drawn upon in later phases. UFC FIT teaches techniques with the proper volume and intensity to force consistent progression so that with each workout, you get better.

But then, boom! It changes.

Without further ado…

***

As I said on the MMASucka Facebook and Twitter pages, the format would be changing and that it has. There is no point in me stating every single day when the comments and whatnot become repetitive. My weight has stayed at about the same place for the past week and a bit, so the way it’ll work is, I’ll give you my thoughts on the week as a whole and my starting and ending weight.

WEEK 6

This was the last week of the second segment. Each and every workout was body weight specific and worked you to the bones. There was always sweat dripping and I felt great. My lone problem was that I came down with an uber bad cold near the end of the week and was forced out for all of week 7.

WEEK 7

Fast forward an extra week. I know it sounds like the week was taken off and I rested, but my cough was so bad that any time I tried to push myself it just didn’t happen.

The weekend before Week 7 began, I bought a pass to my local rec center where I had worked out in the past. My goal for the next six weeks was to do two-a-days. It didn’t happen every single day, but what I had done was hit the gym in the morning before work for a light cardio and weight session and then kicked UFC Fit’s ass at night.

The beginning of the third segment features a couple new workouts including Striker Strength and Grapple Strength. These puppies will tighten and tone your muscles, as they are very dumbbell heavy (not the dumbbells being heavy, just heavily focused.)

Take them slow and learn the moves before packing on the weight.

Starting weight – 184

Ending weight – 183
