A bantamweight tussle between Urijah Faber and Francisco Rivera takes place at UFC 181 in December.

UFC officials announced the match-up on Wednesday evening.

Urijah Faber vs Francisco Rivera takes place at UFC 181

Faber (31-7) last fought at UFC 175 in July, when he defeated Alex Caceres via third round rear-naked choke. That victory bounced him back from a TKO defeat against Renan Barao at UFC 169. “The California Kid” is 5-1 in his last six fights and has never lost a non-championship bout in his eleven year career.

Rivera (10-3, 1NC) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 173 in May. The 33-year-old was riding a five-fight winning streak, with one no-contest prior to the decision loss.

The Faber vs. Rivera bout will likely take place on the evening’s main card.

UFC 181 is expected to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 6 and will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler.
