Alex White vs. Clay Collard set for UFC 181

UFC 181 gets a fun featherweight contest as Alex White and Clay Collard will square-off in what could be the evenings fight of the night.

UFC officials confirmed the new on Thursday.

White (10-1) made his debut in April, joining with a record of 9-0. He would make it 10 in a row after stunning Estevan Payan via first round knockout at UFC on FOX 11. This win earned him a performance of the night bonus. In his second UFC outing White faced Lucas Martins at UFC Fight Night 45 in Atlantic City. The two slugged it out for three rounds, but Martins finished White in the third via knockout. This would earn Martins a performance of the night bonus.

Collard (13-5) made his UFC debut on short notice at UFC Fight Night 49 in August. He fought Max Holloway an showed ridiculous toughness throughout the fight, stamping his ticket for another shot in the promotion. Collard went on to get finished in the third round. Outside of the UFC he holds wins over Justin Buchholz, Jordan Clements and Steve Sharp.

This bout will likely be one of the nights featured prelims.

UFC 181 is set to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 6. It will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler.
