A heavyweight tussle between Antonio Silva and Frank Mir has been added to the UFC 184 fight card.
The big fight was announced on Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight.”
Antonio Silva vs Frank Mir added to UFC 184 fight card
Silva (18-6-1) is on a brutal skid at the moment, with two losses and a draw in his last three fights. Most recently “Bigfoot” was knocked out by Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night 51. The former Strikeforce fighter’s last victory was in February 2013 when he knocked out Alistair Overeem.
Mir (16-9) hasn’t fought inside the Octagon since his UFC 169 decision loss to Alistair Overeem in February. The former heavyweight champion is currently on a four-fight losing skid, with losses to Junior dos Santos, Daniel Cormier, Frank Mir and the aforementioned Overeem.
The Silva vs. Mir bout will likely take place on the UFC 184 main card.
UFC 184 goes down on February 28 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and features two title fights. In the main event, UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman will put his belt on the line against Vitor Belfort. UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will take on long time number-one contender Cat Zingano in the co-main event.
