The veteran of mixed martial arts Yves Edwards has announced he’s retiring from professional MMA via a Facebook post on Sunday.

Yves Edwards retires from professional MMA

Edwards walks away from the premier promotion in the world as a true pioneer of the sport, finishing his career off with a 44-22, 1 NC record, recording 65 fights in total in professional MMA in the 17 years he was active.  He was once thought to be one of the best lightweights in the world and recorded wins over top name fighters.

He did not walk away on a good note though, riding a five fight losing streak and most recently suffered a stoppage loss to Akbarh Arreola at UFC Fight Night 57 in November.

Here at MMASucka.com we wish you luck on your next chapter, and thank you for all the great memories, Edwards.
