In the UFC Fight Night 58 co-main event, Renan Barao returned to the Octagon for the first time since losing his Bantamweight Title to take on Canadian upstart Mitch Gagnon. While Gagnon was able to keep the fight close and competitive by alternating striking exchanges with disruptive, boxing-style clinches, he wore himself out in the 3rd round. This led to Barao scoring a takedown and quickly transitioning to an arm triangle choke to score the submission victory.
