In a time where everyone seems to be training MMA, it’s very hard to get noticed by the big boys in the UFC. British Columbia’s Sabah “The Persian Warrior” Fadai has been doing everything he can to knock on that door and now that the promotion is heading to the Philippines, he’s making it his mission to land on that May 16 fight card.

“I deserve to be with the UFC period,” Fadai told MMASucka.com. “I’ve busted my ass off. My so called deservent factor is sky high. I deserve to showcase my skills there in the Octagon and whoops some poor guys ass.”

The 29-year-old began his professional MMA career back in 2007 and has amassed a 10-4 record. Four years of his life was spent overseas in the Philippines, thus wanting to target this audience even more.

“I specially want to fight in Manila, because I spent four years of my life in Cebu City, Philippines. I fought twice there and represented the country twice in Singapore as well. I was their so called “adopted son of Cebu.” I have plenty friends and fans who want to see me repeat yet another devastating knock out.”

Being in the sport for nearly eight years, having only fourteen fights does not seem like a lot. This isn’t on Fadai’s shoulders, the Four Directions Martial Arts fighter has been ducked and dodged so many times, it has been hard for him to stay active.

“Finding opponents is becoming tougher and tougher by the day,” said Fadai. “Having four fights fall through within two months is unreal — it is very frustrating. This is how I put food on the table. These wanna be fighters commit to a fight, then see that they have a real threat ahead of them, so they pull out with a lame excuse. That’s taking my opportunity to provide my family with better shelter and food.”

He believes this wouldn’t happen if he were to sign a contract with the UFC, where he truly feels he deserves to be.

“In a promotion like the UFC nothing like this happens. A fight is set and 95% of the time that fight takes place a couple months later.”

Fadai is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. Of his 10 victories, five have come by TKO or KO, three by submission and only two going to the judges scorecards.

UFC Fight Night 66 goes down on May 15 from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines. Headlining the event are Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber square off in a featherweight showdown.
