UFC welterweight Hector Lombard, who currently is listed in the top ten of the division, only had one fight in 2014, a win over Jake Shields, and will go on to only fight once this year, as well.

Lombard fought Josh Burkman at UFC 182 in January, and picked up a victory via unanimous decision.  ‘Showeather’ failed a post-fight drug test for the designer steroid desoxymethyltestosterone (DMT).

He faced the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) this afternoon, and received a large punishment for his actions.  The 37-year old received a one year suspension, and also was stripped of his $53,000 win bonus and was fined 33% of his $53,000 fight purse.

The Cuban native will be out of action until Jan. 3, 2016, when he can resume competing again.  Although, he will be required to pass a drug test before fighting again.

His UFC 182 win against Burkman has also been overturned to a no-contest.
