Matt Brown vs Tim Means added to UFC 189

A welterweight bout that is sure to be entertaining has been added to the highly anticipated UFC 189 pay-per-view card, as Matt Brown meets Tim Means later this summer.

The matchup was announced on America’s Pregame Show on FOX Sports 1 on Tuesday.

Brown was riding a seven-fight winning streak which included five stoppage wins, but has dropped to in a row to Robbie Lawler and Johny Hendricks.  His latest win was in Ohio last May, and he stopped Erick Silva in the third round.

Means was released from the UFC is 2013, but has been brought back and has developed a 4-1 record since then.  He most recently stopped George Sullivan at UFC on FOX 15 this past weekend.  He also knocked out Dhiego Lima in February.

The card placement for the bout is unknown at this time.

UFC 189 takes place live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on July 11.  In the main event, featherweight champion Jose Aldo takes on Conor McGregor.
