1995 was the last time the two legends Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock entered the cage against each other.
The two are now with Bellator MMA — Gracie as a “brand ambassador” and Shamrock last fought Kimbo Slice and lost via KO at Bellator 138 in June.
Could Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock be a possibility for Bellator?
According to a number of sources, Bellator has approached the godfather of MMA to return to the cage and a likely opponent would be Shamrock.
My Top Sportsbooks is reporting that if Royce Gracie does return to the ring, there are 1/80 odds that it will be against his old pal Ken Shamrock.
While nothing is set in stone, Gracie has not fought inside the cage his Dynamite!! USA victory against Kazushi Sakuraba in 2007. Since his time away from the sport, Shamrock has fought six times and gone 2-4. Gracie is 2-2-2 in his last six outings.
In an interview that MMASucka.com conducted with Gracie in 2012 the Brazilian said, “can never say no, can never say never” in regards to his return to the cage. “Never is a very strong word.”
