UFC Fight Night 99 is filled with familiar fighters, some of whom have absolutely bizarre walkouts. This is where I, as MMASucka.com’s resident board-certified musicologist, jump in to help. Whether a track doesn’t fit the fighter’s vibe, or is just plain bad, the wrong walkout song can sink a fighter. So I’m here to offer alternatives for both the fighters and for your listening pleasure.

Ross Pearson

What he walked out to last: “Stole the Show” – Kygo ft. Parson James

What he should walk out to next: “England Belongs to Me” – Cock Sparrer

Let’s face it, “The Real Deal” Ross Pearson doesn’t look like the kind of guy who should be walking out to something that sounds like a male Adele singing over the love-child of modern Sting and 80s Peter Gabriel. No, Ross looks like a dyed in the wool, “Oi!” shouting punk rocker. To that end, it seems appropriate that the proud Brit should walk out to Cock Sparrer’s populist anthem “England Belongs to Me.” Check it out below.

Anna Elmose

What she walked out to last: “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” – Whitney Houston

What she should walk out ot next: “Seal the Deal” – Volbeat

When Anna “Panda” Elmose walked out to do battle with Germaine de Randemie at UFC Fight Night 87, she walked out to one of Whitney Houston’s earliest hits. It didn’t quite work out for her. So perhaps it’s time for the Dane to try something new, entrance-wise. Elmose’s countrymen, Volbeat, are a fantastic rock group who recently released a boxing-themed video for their latest single “Seal the Deal.” It’s a fight song, and one that I feel may serve “Panda” well at UFC Fight Night 99. Listen below and see for yourself.
