On Thursday evening, in shocking fashion, UFC President Dana White announced that the promotion had cut one of their rising stars — Yair Rodriguez.
Despite losing his most recent fight to the always dangerous Frankie Edgar, Rodriguez was still ranked at number 11 on the UFC depth chart. “El Pantera” was 6-1 inside the Octagon and one of the organization’s brightest prospects.
He held huge wins over Andre Fili, as well as B.J. Penn.
