UFC Fight Night 130 Walkout Songs

UFC Fight Night 130 is upon us this week! Airing live Echo Pool Arena in Liverpool, England, the card is topped by a welterweight clash between Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Darren Till. All over the card, people are wanting to make a mark with promoters and fans. With uniforms now de rigeur for UFC athletes, one of the few ways they have left to stand out as individuals is with walkout music. Some have a history of low-energy entrances. Others just need a boost for their walkout songs. That’s why I’m here. As MMASucka.com‘s resident musicologist, I’m here to offer suggestions that would help these fighters become more memorable as a brand. I’m even doing it publicly, for your entertainment. So, without further ado, here… We… Go!

Darren Stewart

What he last walked out to: “Bad and Bougie” – Migos

What he should walk out to next: “Street Fighter Riddim” – D Double E

While Darren “the Dentist” Stewart had a pre-UFC reputation as a knockout artist, his UFC tenure to date has been as low energy as his Migos-made walkout song for his last fight. A return to the music of his English homeland may be in order, swapping southern US hip-hop for UK grime. The bass music-influenced “Street Fighter Riddim,” from D Double E, could help give Stewart the extra boost he needs to get his first UFC victory. You can hear the track below.

Salim Touahri

What he last walked out to: “Drop the World”- L’il Wayne feat. Eminem

What he should walk out to next: “You Already know” – RZA feat. Kool G Rap, Suga Bang, & Inspectah Deck

Salim “Grizzly” Touahri fell victim to the Eminem Curse in his UFC debut last year. It happens to a lot of fighters, that’s what it’s called “the Eminem Curse.” It even applies on songs where he’s just a feature. So, if Salim “Grizzly” wants a lower tempo hip-hop song to walk out to, where should he turn? Well, as is often the case, he should turn to the RZA. “You Already Know” states what Touahri wants to get across: His opponents should already know that when he’s there, they’re in for the pain is 10-2 record would indicate. Give it a listen below.
