MMASucka got the opportunity to speak with Peter Barrett at Cage Titans 39 media day. Barrett headlines the upcoming card when he faces Connor Barry. The Cage Titans veteran Barrett spoke on a few topics.

Peter Barrett talks Cage Titans 39 Headlining bout

First, he recalled a visit to the UFC Performance Institute, where he trained and utilized all the facilities utilities with a crew of Cage Titans fighters. He also spoke about the new venue for the upcoming Cage Titans show before breaking down his opponent.

Record

Fighting out of Sityodtong in Boston, Barrett holds a record of 9-2. In his nine victories, Barrett has six KO victories and two submissions. He earned his second professional submission victory in his most recent fight when he defeated Jay Ellis in the opening round of their co-main event contest at Cage Titans 38.

Previous to his recent dominant victory, Barrett suffered the first two losses of his professional career consecutively. His first loss came at Cage Titans 34 when the lightweight took on Drew Morais. Following the loss, Barrett competed on Cage Titans 36 but unfortunately lost to TJ Brown by submission in the third round.

Cage Titans Veteran

Barrett is a real veteran of the Cage Titans promotion. CTFC 39 marks his 11th appearance as a professional (18 including amateur) under the promotion. As an amateur, Barrett captured and defended the promotions featherweight title. He earned the belt back in 2013 when he defeated Ruso Khubejashvili by knockout in the opening minute of the first. He then went on to defend the strap once before turning pro.

Cage Titans 39

Cage Titans 39 takes place at Pinz in Kingston, Massachusetts on June 30th. The card is set to be smaller than the usual Cage Titans shows. Other fights featured on the card include a high stakes amateur champion showdown when Flyweight champ, Kylie O’Hearn challenges Taylor Thompson for her bantamweight title. Also on the card, Randy Costa makes his professional debut when he takes on Stacey Anderson.
