UFC Fight Night 132 Walkout Songs

UFC Fight Night 132 goes down this week live from Singapore! Going down at the Singapore Indoor Arena, the card is headlined by a welterweight war between Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Leon “Rocky” Edwards. All over the card, people are wanting to make a mark with promoters and fans. With uniforms now de rigeur for UFC athletes, one of the few ways they have left to stand out as individuals is with walkout music. Some have a history of bizarre entrances. Others just need a boost for their UFC Fight Night 132 walkout songs. That’s why I’m here. As MMASucka.com‘s resident musicologist, I’m here to offer suggestions that would help these fighters become more memorable as a brand. I’m even doing it publicly, for your entertainment. So, without further ado, here… We… Go!

Tyson Pedro

What he last walked out to: “Sexual” – NEIKED feat. Dyo

What he should walk out to next: “Devil’s Haircut” – Beck

Some fighters can pick a completely inappropriate walkout and make it work. Tai Tuavasa and his monster ballads come to mind. So does Meisha Tate and “Roar.” However, a sex-positive pop song just doesn’t work as an MMA fighter’s walkout, which I’m sure is much to Tyson Pedro’s chagrin. If Pedro wants to have an off-kilter walkout, then there’s slightly more violence-appropriate songs he could use. Something like Beck’s “Devil’s Haircut” is far enough off-center for combat sports that he could still make it work. You can hear it below

Melinda Fabian

What she last walked out to: “In the Air Tonight” – Nonpoint

What she should walk out to next: “Take on Me” –

Unfortunately for Melinda Fabian, two fighters have already made the original version of “In the Air Tonight” their signature walkout song. So while the Nonpoint cover is fine, she’s going to need to find a different song. In keeping with 80s covers theme, Reel Big Fish’s cover of “Take On Me” is different enough from anything that any other fighters are walking out that it would help Fabian stand out instantly.
