UFC Fight Night 146 Walkout Songs

UFC Fight Night 146, is coming at us live this weekend from the Intrust Bank Arena in Witchta, KS! In the main event, former heavyweight kingpin Junior “Cigano” dos Santos squares off with “Mr. Hot Balls” himself, Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis. Underneath the pair, all over the card, people are wanting to make a mark with promoters and fans. With uniforms now de rigeur for UFC athletes, one of the few ways they have left to stand out as individuals is with walkout music. Some have a had low-energy entrances. Others just need a boost for their UFC Fight Night 146 walkout songs. That’s why I’m here. As MMASucka.com‘s resident musicologist, I’m here to offer suggestions that would help these fighters become more memorable as a brand. I’m even doing it publicly, for your entertainment. So, without further ado, here… We… Go!

Drew Dober

What he last walked out to: “Play That Funky Music” – Wild Cherry

What he should walk out to next: “Play That Funky Music” – Wild Cherry

Sometimes some fighters get it right. And Drew Dober got it right with Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” is a stand-out walkout, and one that Dober should be encouraged to keep at all costs. It’s a recognizable classic, and somehow suits Dober’s personality quite well. You can hear it below.

Yana Kunitskaya

What he last walked out to: “Believer”- Imagine Dragons

What he should walk out to next: “Foxey Lady” – Jimi Hendrix

While I’ve commented on people using Imagine Dragons’ “Believer” as walkout music before, in the case of Yana “Foxy” Kunitskaya, it does not fit with the brand she’s working to establish with her nickname. No, you don’t take on the nickname of “Foxy” and not walk out to the Jimi Hendrix classic “Foxey Lady.” Sometimes it helps to be on the nose, and “Foxey Lady” has an instantly recognizable and powerful opening that would allow the crowds to quickly identify it with Kunitskaya. You can hear it below.
