Both the main and co-main event on numerous betting websites have very close odds.

Cormier (22-1, 1NC) won the heavyweight title at UFC 226 when he knocked out his UFC 241 opponent Miocic in the very first round. The man known as “DC” went on to defend his gold at UFC 230 when he tapped out Derrick Lewis. Since losing to Jon Jones at UFC 182, Cormier has gone on to win seven in a row, with a no-contest blemish to Jones at UFC 214.

Miocic (18-3) has not fought since that UFC 226 loss to Cormier. Prior to the defeat, Miocic held the record for longest heavyweight title run — at three defenses. After losing to Junior dos Santos at UFC on FOX 13, the 36-year-old went on to win six in a row before losing to DC.

Nate Diaz returns against Anthony Pettis

Diaz (19-11) has been out of action since his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in 2016. The Stockton bad boy held out for the perfect fight and that was a welterweight battle against the former lightweight kingpin, Pettis.

Pettis (22-8) is known for his highlight reel techniques inside the cage. Looking to always excite has not helped the Milwaukee native at times and has bounced back and forth between wins and losses over his last seven fights. Most recently “Showtime” earned a knockout over Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC on ESPN+ 6 in March.

Also featured on the UFC 241 main card is a middleweight battle between Yoel Romero and the undefeated Paulo Costa. You can catch UFC 241 live on ESPN+ PPV on Saturday, August 17.
