AMA 35 went down from the Fraserview Hall in Vancouver, Canada on Friday night. The event featured four title fights and showcased some promising up and coming British Columbia prospects. Below you can check out full AMA 35 results.
The main event featured middleweights Derrick Laing and Stephen Baxter. The Team BMA product was able to secure a tight guillotine choke on Baxter in round 2 and finish the fight. This victory earned Laing the distinct honor of becoming the AMA middleweight champion.
Titles were won and in impressive fashion
Mitch Burke needed just 17-seconds to finish Damon Begg in the co-main event. This was a match for the BC middleweight kickboxing title and Burke had his sight set on that gold. Landing one punch that wobbled Begg and another couple that dropped him was what put the strap around Burke’s waist at the end of the night.
CJ Schouten fought a beautiful fight to secure the AMA featherweight kickboxing title. A second-round TKO over Gillian Flynn earned the championship.
