On Monday afternoon, it was announced that Khabib Nurmagomedov would put his UFC lightweight championship on the line against Tony Ferguson on April 18.

The unnamed event will take place in New York City and will be the main event for a pay-per-view card at Barclays Center. The nearly finalized match was broken by UFC promotional partnerĀ ESPN.

The opening odds have been set. Nurmagomedov is sitting at a -250 favorite and Ferguson at +210 underdog according to BetOnline.

Nurmagomedov’s manager also posted a photo of the bout agreement on his Instagram.

This will be the fifth time the UFC has attempted to line the two of these warriors up to fight.

Nurmagomedov (28-0) has yet to taste defeat. He is unbeaten in his professional career and 12-0 inside the Octagon. Most recently the Dagestani fighter tapped out Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 to retain his lightweight title and earn Performance of the Night honors. Nurmagomedov has defended the title twice.

Ferguson (25-3) is riding a 12-fight winning streak, dating back to 2013. The lone blemish on the 35-year-old’s UFC rap sheet was to Michael Johnson back in 2012. At UFC 238, Ferguson finished Donald Cerrone. ‘El Cucuy’ has finished his last three opponents and earn ‘of the Night’ honors an impressive seven times in his last eight fights.
