MMASucka staff picks are locked in for tonight’s UFC on ESPN 10. The event will take place, once again, at the newly configured UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. Main card action will begin at 9:00pm ET (6:00pm PT) live on ESPN and ESPN+.

The Fights

In the main event of the evening, Jessica Eye and Cynthia Calvillo will meet at a catchweight of 126.25 pounds. The ladies were intended to meet in the flyweight division until Eye missed the mark by a quarter of a pound.

Eye received her first UFC title shot in June of last year after three impressive victories in 2018. After falling short to champion Valentina Shevchenko by a knockout, she would rebound late in the year with a decision over former Pancrase champion Viviane Araujo. Eye will look to make a big statement in hopes to fight for a title sometime in the near future. Her opponent, Calvillo, started her professional career on a high with sixth straight victories in just eleven months. A unanimous decision loss to Carla Esparza would snap that skid, but she would follow it up with two more decisive wins. Although coming off a December draw to Marina Rodriguez, Calvillo aims to make her way towards earning her first ever shot at gold.

Another catchweight fight comes in the co-main event at  190.5 pounds between New Jersey’s Karl Roberson and Italy’s Marvin Vettori. Roberson missed weight by four and-a-half pounds, the second time in a row he has failed to hit the mark on his cut against Vettori (their fight in May cancelled). The two will look to settle their animosity towards one another, both looking to add upon their two-fight win streaks.

Due to a late change, the main card fight between Charles Rosa and Kevin Aguilar will NOT be counted this weekend.

Staff Picks

Throughout the year, staff picks will be composed of five different MMA promotions. UFCBellatorONE, and RIZIN all appeared for the 2019 season and will make returns. The newest addition for the 2020 year will see the PFL including their regular season, playoffs, and championship card. A special staff picks bonus will be introduced and discussed regarding PFL’s playoff format as time gets closer.

Main cards will makeup both UFC and Bellator picks, while the biggest fights to make up ONE, RIZIN, and PFL events will be used. The WINNER of staff picks will have a choice between receiving a championship belt from ProAmBelts or a championship chain from Championship Chains. The 2019 winner was awarded to Michael DeSantis, compiling a record of 321-178. Second-place Connor Deitrich collected a close score of 319-180 with third-place Ed Gallo not far behind totaling at 312-183.
