KSW is stacking up its second card of the year with the addition of its main event. KSW 54 is set to take place Saturday, August 29, 2019, in Warsaw, Poland. The event can be seen on the new KSW app or on KSWtv. The card was already announced to be the debut of boxing champion Izuagbe Ugonoh, but has now had its main event announced. Two undefeated fighters will face off, as double champion Mateusz Gamrot will take on Shamil Musaev.

Mateusz Gamrot

KSW’s lightweight and featherweight champion will face an extremely tough test in the form of the Russian, Musaev. Gamrot last competed in July, defeating Norman Parke at KSW 53 to unify the lightweight title. Gamrot is currently 16-0 with nine of his wins coming by finish. After winning both the KSW featherweight and lightweight title to close out 2018, Gamrot took 2019 off to rest and recover. In the meantime, Parke won the interim lightweight title, setting up their heated meeting last month.

Shamil Musaev

Someone’s “0 must go” at KSW 54, and Musaev is hoping it is not his. The 26-year old Russian is 2-0 in KSW with both bouts ending in first-round knockouts. The lightweight has finished 10 of his 14 career wins. Prior to KSW, Musaev also spent time in M-1 Challenge and Fight Nights Global. Gamrot will be Musaev’s toughest opponent to date, not having quite the resume as the reigning champion. Regardless, this will make for a dynamic main event with all the potential of being Fight of the Year.
