According to ESPN, multiple sources report that the promotion is looking to book the fight for April 10th on a UFC Fight Night card. No contract has yet to be signed however sources say verbal agreements have been made. The location and venue are still unknown.

With both contenders in the top five, this is a high stakes bout, with potentially the winner getting a title shot. However, this fight is also interesting to see who the best European middleweight is as both will be looking to prove that they are the rightful owner of that crown.

Darren Till

Till (18-3-1) last fought in July 2020 against the Aussie, Robert Whittaker in a close tactical fight where the Englishman fell short by unanimous decision. The Liverpudlian was set to face Jack Hermansson in December however was forced to pull out due to a persistent knee injury. Till is a former welterweight who unsuccessfully challenged for the welterweight belt in 2018. Since jumping up to middleweight, the Liverpool native is 1-1 in the division with a split decision win over Kelvin Gastelum and is currently ranked no. four

Marvin Vettori

Vettori (16-4-1) replaced Till for the December bout against Hermansson and emerged victorious by unanimous decision propelling him up into rank no. five in the UFC middleweight division. “The Italian Dream” is on a four-fight winning streak and will be looking to continue his streak on his quest for UFC gold. His last loss came in April 2018 against current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, a loss the Italian would want to correct in the future.

Israel Adesanya will be moving up in weight to fight for the UFC light heavyweight belt on March 6th against champion Jan Blachowicz to become a simultaneous double champion.
