On Monday morning, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced that the king of grappling, Gordon Ryan had signed with the promotion.

Gordon Ryan Signs with ONE Championship

Ryan who has proved that he is the best grappler on the face of the earth will compete in the ONE cage or ring as both a submission grappler and an MMA fighter.

The Danaher Death Squad black belt will now join his teammate Garry Tonon under the ONE banner. Tonon is 6-0 as a professional MMA fighter with victories not only via submission but TKO and decisions as well.

Ryan is a two-time ADCC champion, IBJJF no-gi champion, multi-division EBI champion and holds too many professional grappling victories to name.

On March 26, Ryan will face Vagner Rocha in the main event of Who’s Number One, which goes down live on FloGrappling.

His name was in the headlines for an altercation that happened after his submission victory against Roberto Jimenez. The incident was between Ryan and longtime foe Andre Galvao.

2021 has been a red-hot year for ONE and will continue with their ONE on TNT event series airing in primetime in the United States. The addition of Ryan continues the hot streak for the organization.

No debut has been set for Ryan, and he is expected to compete in the heavyweight division.
