UFC veteran Andrei Arlovski will make yet another UFC walk at UFC Vegas 24. This time he will be taking on Chase Sherman. UFC Vegas 24 will be headlined by a middleweight fight between Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum. The prelims are set to start at 7 p.m. ET while the main card will be starting at 10 p.m. ET.

Andrei Arlovski

Andrei Arlovski has a professional record of 30-20 (2 no contests) and will be making his 35th walk to the UFC Octagon this weekend. For Arlovski, 17 of his 30 wins are by knockout, and 11 of his 20 losses are by knockout. Arlovski is 2-1 since the start of 2020, winning two decisions over Philipe Lins and Tanner Boser in 2020. His 2021 started with a submission loss to Tom Aspinall in February. Although he has been doing great lately, Arlovski is 5-10-1 since losing to Stipe Miocic in 2016.

Andrei Arlovski has significantly improved his grappling on the ground and against the cage since he started training at American Top Team in 2017. His chin seems to be an issue in his old age – he is 42 – but he is continuously evolving in his counter striking. Andrei Arlovski has significant wins in his career over Frank Mir, Travis Browne, Brendan Schaub, Travis Fulton, Roy Nelson, and Fabricio Werdum. He has even fought top heavyweight contenders such as Miocic, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Francis Ngannou, and Marcin Tybura. Although he lost those fights, it just goes to show that he is still fighting at the highest level.

Chase Sherman

Chase Sherman is currently on his second stint in the UFC. He was released from the UFC after going 2-5 back in 2016-2017. Sherman then went on a three-fight winning streak finishing Frank Tate, Jeremy May, and Rashaun Jackson in Island Fights. The UFC gave him another shot where he was able to knockout Isaac Villanueva in his return to the Octagon on May 13, 2020.

Sherman has an overall record of 15-6 with 14 of his 15 wins coming by way of knockout. Four of his six losses are also by knockout. His knockout losses are to Alex Nicholson, Walt Harris, Shamil Abdurakhimov, and Augusto Sakai. Sherman’s other career wins include Rashad Coulter, Jack May, and Damian Grabowski. He will come into this fight with a significant experience disadvantage but is significantly younger than Arlovski at 31 years old.

Sherman had a short stint in BKFC where he fought to a draw with Sam Shewmaker, won a decision over Arnold Adams, and then lost a decision to Joey Beltran. He won the BKFC heavyweight title against Adams and then lost it to Beltran. This would actually be his last fight before being signed to the UFC in 2020.

My name is Michael Lynch. I’m originally from Long Island, NY, but I reside in Columbia, Sc. I’ve been covering MMA for almost two years now. I’ve covered events such as Island fights and the PFL. I also have a YouTube channel where I do fight companions and UFC fight previews. I have recently started to train in mma and would like to have my first fight in 2020. I believe that as a journalist I need to experience what these fighters go threw, in order to understand their POV.
