*UPDATE: While originally scheduled to compete at BKFC 17, Mark Godbeer is no longer on the fight card.*

The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship bounces back to action this Friday with an event in Birmingham, Alabama. BKFC 17 will be headlined by a pair of heavyweight hitters in Dillon Cleckler and Josh Burns, serving as a heavyweight title eliminator. The card is filled with talent and is sure to provide plenty of fireworks throughout the night.

Top 5 Fighters to Watch at BKFC 17

Louie Lopez

Louie Lopez will make his BKFC debut against a very tough Rusty Crowder in a bantamweight clash. Crowder looks to play spoiler against “El Loco”, who has compiled an amateur boxing record of 4-4. Crowder’s bareknuckle experience could play a significant role in this matchup, but if Lopez were able to knock off the vet, his stock would certainly raise quickly within the 135-lb. division.

Lorenzo Hunt

Fan favorite Lorenzo Hunt returns to action against Josh Dyer in a 205-lb. matchup. Hunt is coming off a sensational TKO finish over Rob Morrow at BKFC Knucklemania. If Hunt can implement his style of bareknuckle boxing, his arm will certainly be raised by the end of the bout.

Mark Godbeer

Known as a finisher, Mark “The Hand of” Godbeer was set to make his BKFC debut at BKFC 15 against Sam Shewmaker, but Godbeer had to pull out of the fight. Being well-versed in both MMA and bareknuckle boxing, Godbeer will look to pick up a third straight victory in his BKFC debut. His opponent, Mick Terrill, will also be making his BKFC debut. With a win, do not be surprised to see a callout from the brash Brit, especially to reschedule against Shewmaker—a bout that certainly was full of hype.

Marcel Stamps

Birmingham native Marcel Stamps will undoubtedly receive a crowd pop when making his entrance to his fight against Mike Richman in the co-main event. Stamps fell short in his heavyweight title bid against Joey Beltran at BKFC 13, but with a win on Friday night, Stamps will cement his spot as a top heavyweight contender.

Dillon Cleckler

Dillion “Bad Boy” Cleckler has been on a tear since making his BKFC debut, finishing Frank Tate and Chris Jensen. His main event partner, Josh Burns, is no walk in the park. This fight will send sparks flying into the front row and teeth into the nosebleeds. Do not blink when watching this one. Stardom, and a heavyweight title fight, is just a punch away for Dillon Cleckler.
