ONE: Full Blast II Preview
The opening and closing bouts of the event will feature ONE Super Series athletes. In the opening bout, a flyweight kickboxing affair, #4-ranked flyweight contender Wang Wenfeng battles Taiki Naito in a crucial battle of hopeful contenders.
In the main event, #4-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender Elias Mahmoudi meets Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy in the catchweight contest.
However, the event also features two mixed martial arts bouts.
Featherweights will hit the Circle first when China’s “Cannon” Ma Jia Wen meets South Korea’s Yoon “The Big Heart” Chang Min.
Both men have found success inside the Circle and are looking to get back in the win column to take another step up the featherweight ladder. Both Ma and Yoon had enjoyed four-bout winning streaks in ONE and are hoping to begin another run that will lead to breaking through into the official ONE athlete rankings.
Ma has enjoyed four finishes while in ONE, which includes finishing three of the bouts during his four-match win streak. Yoon bested those numbers by finishing each of his four during his streak, which included a first-round submission over Phoe Thaw at ONE: Century.
Given their knack for finishing bouts, this could be a pick for Match of the Night.
Lightweights take the mantle in the co-main event when American Ben Wilhelm meets Mongolian Amarsanaa “Spear” Tsogookhuu.
Tsogookhuu will be looking to get back into the win column himself, but he will be meeting an unbeaten Hawaiian seeking to explode onto the ONE scene in his promotional debut.
Wilhelm has a perfect 100% finishing rate as he has finished each of his prior opponents via submission. If he can continue that run in his ONE debut, Wilhelm will be seen as an immediate threat in one of the most talent-rich divisions in the sport.
Fans should expect fast-paced action in each of the four contests.
The event is filled with athletes who are always seeking a knockout or submission, and that should lead to a beautiful way to begin your weekend.
ONE: Full Blast II airs on B/R Live at 8:30 a.m. EST/5:30 a.m. PST on Friday, June 11.
