Surging featherweight Bryce Mitchell looks to take the biggest step and challenge of his career when he faces off against the always dangerous Edson Barboza

Bryce Mitchell Gets Paired Up With Edson Barboza For March 5th

Mitchell will be back after what will end up being a 15-month absence from the octagon on March 5th at an event and location yet to be named. The UFC has teased making the “rounds” again as they look to expand outside the UFC Apex and get back to being the roadshow it once was.

Bryce Mitchell is an Ultimate Fighter veteran and currently 5-0 in the promotion with one win coming by way of a twister submission against Matt Sayles at UFC on ESPN 7. Mitchell has proven to be one for showmanship with an all-time great car commercial on his resume as well as a mixtape that he has been working on in his time off.

As for his opponent in Edson Barboza, Barboza has faced a who’s who in the UFC at both the lightweight and featherweight divisions. He has a UFC record of 15-10 that includes a stoppage percentage of 47%, Barboza also is the owner of arguably the most well-known knockout in UFC history that he scored against Terry Etim.

Barboza, 35, will for sure bring a tough veteran test to the younger Mitchell, 27, but a test that is needed. Mitchell finds himself ranked 14th in the division and Barboza ranked 13th, the winner sees themselves primed for a top ten matchup with a ton of names being available for Mitchell there is far more on the line.

An undefeated record is almost unattainable in MMA as a whole and while mishaps are expected early on in a career, that zero in the loss column is a selling point for him as he continues his rise. Everyone will be glued in on March 5th as they look to see him either retain or lose that important number.
