The second edition of the Rizin Trigger series will bring fans a matchup between Kleber Koike Erbst and UFC veteran Ulka Sasaki. Taking place in Ecopa Arena this event will be the opening act for the promotion in 2022.

RIZIN Trigger 2

Erbst is one of the leaders of the Bonsai Jiu-Jitsu camp, which was one of the driving forces in Japanese MMA in 2021. His teammate, Roberto de Souza won and successfully defended the Lightweight title against Mikuru Asakura. It was a shock to fans that Erbst wasn’t booked in last New Years’ card. But just after the event it was announced that he will headline Rizin Trigger 2 and it was expected that it will be about to determine a challenger to the title. It looks like it’s not the case.

Sasaki has a 23 – 9 – 2 Professional MMA record, but he’s in a download spiral in the Rizin ring.

Rest of the card

In the Bantamweight bout, Kenji Kato will take on Kazuma Kuramoto. Suguru Nii squares off against Sora Yamamoto in a featherweight showdown.
