LFA will be delivering an absolute treat this Friday as two up and coming heavyweights look to show out, capture gold, and prove why they are the best heavyweight in the promotion. Petersen and Cortes-Acosta are both coming into this title fight undefeated and one of the zeros will have to go. Petersen is 27 years old and is fighting out of Farmington, Minnesota, so he will be looking to perform in front of his home state. The American heavyweight has finished all of his five opponents on the professional scene via KO/TKO within the first round. As an undefeated amateur, Petersen finished all but one of his five opponents as well. Petersen specializes in wrestling but his punching power is also something to look out for in this fight. Cortes-Acosta, who is undefeated in his own right,  has finished three out of five of his opponents during his professional career. Cortes-Acosta has also been fighting in professional boxing bouts during his professional MMA career that began back in 2018. These two heavyweights will look to bring it this Friday, do not blink because this fight may not go past the first round.

The co-main event for LFA 129 originally featured a flyweight bout between Carlos Mota and Matt Brown but was cancelled and now replaced with a fight between the undefeated Hyder Amil (5-0) and Davante Sewell (9-6). Amil has finished all but one of his five opponents during his professional career. His last fight was at LFA 117 where he finished Robson Junior (3-2) via TKO in the second round. This fight will be a good test for Amil as his opponent has 15 professional fights under his belt. Sewell, whose nickname is “The Grinder”, will look to do just that during his fight on Friday night. The fighter who turned pro back in 2016 has submitted six of his opponents in his nine professional wins. Sewell is most recently coming off a split decision loss to Corey Jackson (5-1) at NFC 143 for the NFC Featherweight Championship. Sewell will be looking to steal Amil’s hype as he comes into LFA looking to make an instant impact and put his name on the list of contenders at 145.

Rest of the Card

The rest of the card features some interesting matchups as well as some up and coming prospects that look to showcase their skills to the world while they begin their ascend to the top. Tyus White (4-1) vs. Jeff Jepsen (6-3) at flyweight will be an interesting one. White’s only loss was to Tony Laramie (6-2) back at LFA 120 and Jepsen will be returning to the cage for the first time since September 2020. Tee Cummins (4-1) vs. Dylan Budka (2-1) at light heavyweight will also be a fight to tune in to. Cummins is most recently coming off a loss to Josh Silveira (8-0) back at LFA 115 for the vacant LFA light heavyweight championship.

The previously-mentioned fighters and so many others will be featured on this action-packed Friday night that fans will not want to miss. MMASucka will be providing live results along the way.
