A few changes to the ONE Championship roster have gone down over the weekend. The organization has released six athletes from its roster. 

ONE Announces Major Roster Changes

Pieter BuistAnthony DoThomas NarmoStefer Rahardian, and Yuri Simoes are no longer with the organization, first reported by the South China Morning PostDaniela Lopez was later also confirmed by the Asian martial arts promotion.

Buist made noise in the lightweight division with three-consecutive victories, but he was let go after back-to-back losses in 2020 and 2021.

Narmo failed to pick up a win in his two trips to the promotion. His last bout was a submission defeat to rising heavyweight talent Odie Delaney. Lopez also dropped her two appearances on the global stage.

It was a similar story for grappling great Yuri Simoes. The Brazilian submission ace went 0-2 in ONE competition against Fan Rong and Daniyal Zainalov.

Do and Rahardian were both coming off victories but had not competed in some time. Rahardian last graced the Circle in October 2019, and Do did not revisit the global stage following his main roster debut in May 2021.

Seven Athletes to Debut at ONE 157

But that has opened the door for debuting athletes, a few of whom will make their first appearance at ONE 157: Petchmorakot vs. Vienot on May 20.

Undefeated Indian strawweight Zeba Bano will make her debut as she welcomes “Wondergirl” Nat Jaroonsak to the world of mixed martial arts. Muay Thai strikers Jacob Smith and Amir Naseri will join the promotion as part of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, while Panpayak Jitmuangnon and Josue Cruz will compete in the tournament’s alternate bout.

Brothers Kade and Tye Ruotolo will make their highly-anticipated debut on the card as they compete in lightweight submission grappling matches against Garry Tonon and Shinya Aoki.

Lastly, Jimmy Vienot steps into the main event against Petchmorakot Petchyindee to challenge for the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title.
