Entering week three of the 2022 season, JCK is ramping up the quality of its cards with today’s offering. Ten fights featuring China’s rising prospects take place on the tropical island of Hainan across the promotion’s bantamweight, featherweight, and lightweight tournaments. Stay tuned right here for JCK 2022 Fight Night 3 live results.

Main and Co-Main Event – Near Certainty for Finishes

Because matchups in JCK are apparently chosen randomly, the instance of mismatches is more likely to occur. Because of that, the format gives both the opportunity for tournament favorites to add to their highlight reels, as well as unknown fighters to burst onto the scene.

Such is the case in this third week of fights. In the main event, bantamweight Zheng Xiaoliang (18-9) fights Li Guozhen (1-0). Zheng is a bit of an odd case. Despite his solid record, there’s a clear delineation of winning fights over overmatched opponents and falling to better competition. He’s fought about everywhere there is to fight in China, and last year made it to JCK’s round of 8 before falling to eventual bantamweight winner Li Haojie.

If his experience is a formula, he should have no trouble making it to the next round over an opponent with only one pro fight. The real questions about his potential may come later in the tournament, but for now, enjoy the violence between Zheng and Li.

Li Yunfeng (5-1) is a dangerous prospect fighting in the co-main event against Ying Guang (1-1). Again, Li is the more seasoned of the two and should enjoy an easy night. He trains out of Enbo Gedou gym in Chengdu, one of China’s best MMA gyms for producing world-class talent. Even though he comes from a wrestling background, his striking has dazzled so far in his career, notching a crazy head kick KO in his second pro win. Perhaps even more impressive was a decision win over Road to UFC fighter Keremuaili Maimaitituoheti in his pro debut.

He fights in his first JCK fight and could be a star in the making this year if he’s successful.

Rest of the Card – China Top Team Submits Their Best

The highlights of the rest of the card include two veterans of Beijing’s China Top Team, another key player in the Chinese MMA scene. Liu Cong is certainly a fighter to watch as he also makes his JCK debut. Liu holds a BJJ purple belt and was supposed to fight Road to UFC’s Aili Muratbek earlier this year, but the fight never materialized. Having run through the first tier of competition in China, he’s ready for a step up in JCK, but first he has to get through Wen Junxiang (1-1).

Also representing China Top Team is lightweight “Coyote” Qi Hailin (5-8). Despite an uneven record, Qi has fought really good competition so far in his career and shouldn’t be overlooked in JCK lightweight field. He’s looking to get off to a good foot against Liu Jun (1-4), who trains in Shandong province at Haoyue Gym.
