Itsuki Hirata was able to showcase her striking with a third-round punch that floored Lin Heqin to secure the unanimous decision victory at ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II.

But not everyone was impressed with the Japanese star’s latest return to the ONE Championship Circle.

Meng Bo had choice words for Hirata following her win, and it was pointed at the fact she missed weight for her atomweight battle against Heqin.

“If you can’t make 115lbs, welcome to the 125lbs division,” wrote Meng on her Instagram.

“I give you some time to eat and let’s have a fight in November. Chatri Sityodtong, ONE Championship, please make this happen, it will be an exciting fight fans love to watch!”

Meng will be seeking to get back in the win column and defend her fellow countrywoman if the proposed matchup were to take place. The strawweight athlete last competed in January but was defeated via submission against Tiffany Teo at ONE: Heavy Hitters.

The Chinese athlete is known as a power striker and has seven career knockouts under her belt. A match against Hirata would be a classic striker vs. grappler matchup, but both women have a lot to prove as they continue to develop their all-around skill set.

Hirata has given no indication that she would move up to the strawweight division, nor has she responded to the comments made by Meng.

Regardless of what happens next, there seems to be a little heat being thrown into this prospective matchup between two rising stars.
