MMA Attack returns after a nine-year hiatus with the fourth event. It takes place Saturday, September 24 at Będzin Arean in Będzin, Poland. The fight card is a mix that features both freak fights and your standard MMA bouts. IT will be headlined by a heavyweight clash of UFC veterans, Adam Wieczorek and Oli Thompson

A Brief History of MMA Attack

So far MMA Attack held three events. The first one took place way back in 2011 at Torwar Arena in Warsaw. It featured such names as Peter Sobotta, Borys Mankowski, Damian Grabowski, and Tomasz Drwal. In the main event, Michal Kita defeated Ricco Rodriguez. It also marked promotion’s first step into the freak fight world as Marcin Najman and Przemysław Saleta met in a K-1 rules match. The bout itself served as a rematch for their MMA fight, which took place at KSW 14. As previously, Saleta was victorious over his rival.

MMA Attack 2 took place in April 2012. Piotr Strus and Michał Fijałka made their debut. In the headliner, Grabowski beat Eddie Sanchez. Najman made his return as he took on popular bodybuilder, Robert Burneika

MMA Attack held its third and then considered to be the final, event on April 27, 2013. The landscape has changed as it was headlined by a freak fight between Burneika and male dancer Dawid Ozdoba. It also featured debuts of Krzysztof Jotko, Piotr Hallman, and Oskar Piechota

MMA Attack made itself a name as a strong alternative to KSW. When the competition went after PRIDE-like spectacle, the promotion was more sport-oriented. Interestingly enough MMA Attack utilized an eight-sided cage in opposition to KSW’s ring. It also helped to elevate the careers of some fighters, who made their way to the UFC.

MMA Attack 4 Fight Card:

The local hero, Adam Wieczorek, returns after a long hiatus and will face the UFC, KSW, and IGF veteran, Oli Thompson in a cage. In the co-main event, the popular freak-fighter Mateusz Murański will take on KSW alumni, Vaso Bakocevic.

In a clash of giants ‘Zuluzinho’ will square against ‘Bombardier,’ who is well known to Polish fans thanks to his appearances in both KSW and freak-fight PRIME MMA promotion.

The former KSW champion Artur Sowinski will trade punches and kicks with much heavier bare-knuckle boxing veteran – ‘Bubu.’ This bout will be contested under the K-1 ruleset.

Interestingly enough, Armia Fight Night promotion’s president Filip Bąkowski will meet freak-fighter Krystian Wilczak in a boxing match.

The rest of the card features alumni from a variety of promotions such as KSW, Oktagon, FEN, Babilon MMA, AFN, and Silesian MMA.
