The flyweight superfight fans have been wanting to see will finally happen on Friday, March 24. ONE Championship announced that ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon will get his shot at two-sport gold against ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Fight Night 8. The event will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and air live and free on Prime Video.

Rodtang has been calling for his shot at the kickboxing title for quite some time, but he has also been busy in the Muay Thai ranks. In 2022, Rodtang defeated Jacob Smith in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix before dropping out of the tournament. He then defended his crown against strawweight king Joseph Lasiri. But the Thai superstar emphatically stated his case for the kickboxing title shot with a decision win over Jiduo Yibu at ONE Fight Night 6.

But Superlek has also been on a roll. The current kickboxing king advanced won his first two ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix bouts before edging Panpayak Jitmuangnon at ONE 164 in a catchweight affair. Superlek would capture the vacant ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship at ONE Fight Night 6 against Spain’s Daniel Puertas.

The two Thai icons mirror each other. Rodtang holds the belt in Muay Thai and is the top-ranked contender in kickboxing, and Superlek wears the gold in kickboxing while chasing the Muay Thai title as its top contender. Regardless of the sport, these two men were always on a collision course, and this feels like just the first of several meetings.

The incredible title tilt will be a centerpiece for ONE Fight Night 8. The dream matchup fans have been waiting for will set the sport on fire. Rodtang vs. Superlek is sure to be an early contender for Fight of the Year.

ONE Fight Night 8 airs live on Prime Video at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. The festivities will emanate from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, March 24. The event is free to all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada.
