Sage Northcutt recently brought a little light to AEW’s House of Black. All Elite Wrestling star Malakai Black claimed the AEW Trios Championship along with his stablemates during the recent AEW Revolution pay-per-view and stopped by to train with the ONE Championship star while in the area. With much of his offense being based on martial arts technique, training alongside elite martial artists makes sense.

Black shared his love for learning under Northcutt in his Instagram stories earlier in the week. Northcutt also championed the meeting on his Twitter page. After rolling with Black and teaching him a few techniques, the Texas native was as upbeat as ever and even mentioned his upcoming bout at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on Friday, May 5.

“Had a blast meeting up with Malakai Black to exchange some techniques! Looking forward to seeing him bust out some of these moves tonight on AEW Dynamite. Full video coming soon! We’re just under 9 weeks out until my return at ONE Fight Night 10 in Denver! Can’t wait to put on a show for you guys soon,” wrote Northcutt.

When Northcutt makes his long-awaited return to the Circle, he will meet Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba. The Pakistani has been making waves as of late and wants to stop Northcutt’s return in its tracks with a big performance. But Northcutt is feeling confident ahead of his return to the lightweight division.

Ahead of ONE Fight Night 10, it is great to see Northcutt healthy and in shape. His explosive and fan-friendly style has been missed, and his return should be a fantastic addition to the stacked card in Broomfield, Colorado. And he has added at least one fan in Black ahead of his return.

ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III takes place in Broomfield, Colorado, at the 1stBank Center on Friday, May 5. Limited tickets are still available at Axs.com. The event will air live and free to all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.
