It’s a big Friday night of MMA this week. While ONE Championship heads to Bangkok for ONE on Prime Video 24 and the PFL begins its postseason in Nashville, more competitive violence heads to the south. After a week away, Fury Fighting Championships returns to live action for its final show of the summer and only show in August.

Friday, Gilley’s Dallas is the host venue for Fury FC 95. As previously stated, this show is the promotion’s one and only card to be held this month. After the show on Friday, the promotion takes a seven-week hiatus before returning to its usual Sunday afternoon/ early evening timeslot on Sept. 22, the day of the autumnal equinox,  in Houston for Fury FC 96.

Turning our attention back to this week’s show, live coverage of Fury FC 95 begins Friday at 6:30 pm ET/ 3:30 pm PT with the undercard streaming on YouTube and Facebook. Main card fights follow at 9 pm ET/ 6 pm PT on UFC Fight Pass. Should there be any swing bouts on the 19-fight itinerary after the main event, those will also be on YouTube and Facebook.

Featherweights Do Battle in Fury FC 96 Main Event

Highlighting the night’s activities is a nontitle affair at 145 lbs. in the Fury FC 96 main event. It’s a fight between contestants with a combined record of 15-3.

Austin Lingo (9-3 MMA, Fury FC promotional debut) returns to the cage for his first fight since getting released from the UFC late last year when he fights undefeated Cam Teague (6-0 MMA, Fury FC promotional debut) in a five-round fight at five minutes per round to close the show.

Fury FC 95 Main Event Fighter Comparison and Betting Odds

Heading into the Fury FC 95 main event on Friday night, Cam Teague stands as the taller man at six feet even, with Austin Lingo countering at 5-foot-10. Lingo owns a 70-inch reach, with no such information accessible for Teague.

Currently, the oddsmakers have Austin Lingo installed as a -225 favorite on the money line, while Cam Teague is a +163 underdog. If you plan on betting on this or any other fight happening in MMA or combat sports this weekend, please wager responsibly.

Austin Lingo Returns to Dallas for Fury FC 95 Main Event in First Appearance Since UFC Release

Austin Lingo enters the Fury FC 95 main event on Friday night having posted a record of 2-3 in his last five fights. Currently, he’s on a two-fight losing streak. Most recently, he dropped a unanimous decision to Melquizael Costa (21-7 MMA, 2-2 UFC) during UFC Vegas 77 on July 15, 2023.

Five months after that fight occurred, Lingo found himself cut from MMA’s top promotion. Friday’s contest is the first one for him in 384 days by the time the cage door closes. Maybe a change of scenery is what Lingo needs to get himself back in the win column.

Fury FC 95 is to be held in Dallas. Since beginning his professional MMA career on July 14, 2017 in the LFA, Lingo’s had seven fights take place in Dallas, winning all of them. Will history repeat itself once more in the Fury FC 95 main event? Watch on Friday to find out.

Cam Teague Brings Unbeaten Record to Fury for Promotional Debut

In the other corner, Cam Teague has yet to taste defeat in his professional MMA career. He hasn’t lost since his amateur finale in July of 2022.

Last time out, Teague finished Cody Jenkins (2-11 MMA) with a first-round knockout on April 27 in Empire FC 28. Jenkins is currently on a 16-fight losing streak across combat sports dating back to Feb. 19, 2022.

As far as Cam Teague’s MMA career is concerned, this is a man who just turned professional in March of last year. He’s won five of six pro fights by way of stoppage, and four of the stoppage victories were recorded inside the opening round.

Given that he’s competing on a worldwide stage with the UFC Fight Pass audience watching him, the Fury FC 95 main event is the most critical of Teague’s young career.

Analysis, Film Study, and Prediction

Expect some fireworks in the Fury FC 95 main event. Neither man likes to mess around upon entering the cage.

“Lights Out” Can Live Up to His Nickname

Austin Lingo’s nickname is “Lights Out,” and if you’ve ever perused his library of fight footage from past events, that moniker couldn’t be more apropos. Solo Hatley Jr. found that out firsthand five years ago.

Right from the command to fight in the opening round, the contestants exchanged shots, but Lingo wobbled Hatley with an overhand right punch. While a left-handed shot missed, Lingo went back to the right hand to put Hatley away for good.

All it’s going to take Austin Lingo to return back to victory lane on Friday in the Fury FC 95 main event is one punch landing square and true.

Watch Teague’s Ground Game

In the other corner, don’t blink when Cam Teague enters the cage. You might end up missing the whole fight, because this man can go to work and complete his assignment as quick as lightning, like he did in Island Fights versus Wassem Quisini.

Right after the opening round began, Teague took back mount and softened Quisini up with ground and pound strikes, quickly applying the torque for a rear-naked choke in just 36 seconds. If Cam Teague takes Austin Lingo down first in the Fury FC 95 main event, he’s got the skillset to go 7-0.

Final Thoughts

Even though there won’t be a championship handed out in Dallas on Friday night, this looks to be the most interesting fight of the entire evening in MMA. Why wouldn’t it be?

You’ve got a UFC alumnus in Austin Lingo who’s looking to make the most of a new start after his release, while Cam Teague is an exciting prospect on the rise. This has all the trimmings for a great contest.

Prediction: Cam Teague by First-Round Submission.
