UFC Kansas City Weigh-In Results: One Hiccup on Scales Friday

UFC Kansas City is almost here. Friday morning, the final pre-fight exercises took place ahead of the Saturday night show with the official weigh-in window in Kansas City, MO. Live coverage of tomorrow night’s show begins with the prelims at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT from the T-Mobile Center. Inside the United States, the undercard will be seen on ESPN+.

Main card fights follow on ESPN2 at 9 pm ET/ 6 pm PT. ESPN proper will be airing the UFL game between the Michigan Panthers and St. Louis BattleHawks from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO.

UFC Kansas City Main Event Good to Go After Official Weigh-Ins Friday

All told, barring any last-minute cancellations or postponements ahead of the show, tomorrow’s event features 14 fights on the schedule. The main event of the evening is locked in with today’s weigh-ins.

No. 7 contender Ian Machado Garry  (15-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and No. 13 contender Carlos Prates (21-6 MMA, 4-0 UFC) each came in on-target at the welterweight nontitle maximum of 171 lbs.

UFC Kansas City Co-Main Event Also Confirmed to Be Going Ahead

The co-main event of the evening will also proceed as scheduled. No. 15 light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith (38-21 MMA, will be making his retirement appearance after clocking in at the nontitle maximum of 206 versus Mingyang Zhang (18-6 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who also weighed-in on-target at 206 lbs.

Chikadze Lone Miss of Day at UFC Kansas City Weigh-Ins

There was but a single weight miss on the scales this morning, but it wasn’t by much. Giga Chikadze (15-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) exceeded the nontitle maximum at featherweight by weighing-in at 147 lbs. His adversary tomorrow night, David Onama (13-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) made weight at 146 lbs without issue today.
