UFC 156 fighter salaries: Evans and Overeem top the list

UFC 156 went down this past weekend from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Earlier today the Nevada State Athletic Commission released the salaries for the fighters who competed on the UFC 156 fight card.

In losing efforts, both Rashad Evans and Alistair Overeem topped the list of payouts. Evans brought home a cool $300,000 for his loss against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in the co-main event, while Overeem took in just over $285k for his knockout loss to Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

Main event winner Jose Aldo made $240,000 for his five round battle against former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

These numbers are the salaries that the organization has to give to the State Commissions. They do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and other fees. They also do not include “fight night” bonuses, sponsor pay or any other bonuses that the UFC often give their fighters.
