Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann II will headline UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2

|

Although the first UFC on FOX Sports 1 event does not have a headlining act just yet, the UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2 event will be headlined by a rematch between welterweights Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.

UFC officials confirmed the match-up via their Twitter account and was initially reported by A.J. Perez of FOX Sports.

Condit (28-7) is riding a two-fight losing streak as he lost to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 154 and most recently Johny Hendricks at UFC 158 in March. Prior to the losing streak Condit won the interim welterweight championship in a five round war against Nick Diaz.

Five out of six of “The Natural Born Killer’s” last fights have won him bonus awards.

Kampmann (20-6) was also a victim of Hendricks’ in his last bout, as he was destroyed by vicious KO at UFC 154 this past November. That loss snapped a three-fight winning that had considered one of the divisions top stars.

The 31-year old will look to get back in the win column and also try to climb the ever so steep welterweight ladder.

The two first met at Ultimate Fight Night 18 back in 2009. Condit and Kampmann fought in a back and forth battle with Condit earning the split decision victory.

UFC on FOX Sports 1 2 goes down Aug. 28, 2013 from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Condit vs. Kampmann main event fight is the only match-up announced for the FOX Sports 1 event.
