Yushin Okami cut from the UFC

Perennial middleweight contender Yushin  Okami has been cut from the UFC, according to a report confirmed by MMAJunkie.com earlier today.

Yushin “Thunder” Okami (29-8), once tagged by UFC president Dana White as “the best fighter to ever come out of Japan,” was last seen losing to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza by TKO  at UFC Fight Night 28. Prior to that, Okami was on a 3 fight winning streak with wins over Buddy Roberts, Alan Belcher, and Hector Lombard. A one time title contender, Okami’s total UFC record stands at 13-5. No announcement has been made as to “Thunder’s” next move.
