After putting on one of the great wars of 2011, it was inevitable that Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua would clash again. That has now come to fruition, with the announcement that the pair will square off at UFC Fight Night 38 in Natal, Brazil on March 23rd.

Dan Henderson vs. “Shogun” Rua 2 announced for March 23rd

UFC officials confirmed the long-rumored bout earlier today.

Dan “Hendo” Henderson (29-11) is one of the last of the old guard still competing in the UFC. Initially a high calibre wrestler, Henderson soon discovered he a knack for knocking people out, and used that to great effect through most of his career. However, “Hendo” has fallen on hard times, losing his last 3 fights – including his first KO loss to Vitor Belfort. Is another pitched battle with “Shogun” what he needs to right the ship?

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (22-8) is – despite his relatively young age – also a member of that fading old guard. His years in Pride took a toll on him, but the fan favorite is still able to entertain a crowd. Going 1-2 in his last 3 fights, his most recent bout saw him gain a 1st round KO victory over James Te Huna at UFC Fight Night 33. Will Rua be able to string two wins together with a victory over Henderson?

UFC Fight Night 38 goes down Mar. 23rd at the Nelio Dias Gymnasium, Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The main event is a light heavyweight rematch between Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua. Stay tuned to MMASucka.com for more on this and other events.
