Taiwan-based Pacific Rim Organized Fighting returns with its first event of the calendar year next month and the fight card for the event is shaping up rather well with the latest addition of two stellar match-ups.
The promotion recently announced a Featherweight bill between ex-UFC fighter Will Chope (19-6), and Canada’s Jeremy Kennedy (4-0).
Now, Don Carlo-Clauss (10-7) vs. Koji Takeuchi (4-8-5) at Lightweight and Luke Jumeau (4-3) vs. John Vake (2-2) at 170-lbs has been added to the running order as well.
PRO FC 9 is scheduled to take place on May 25 at the Luxy Contemporary Nightlife Complex in Taiwan.
Clauss, a native of New York, currently heads the MMA program at Phuket Top Team. A former competitor in both Strikeforce and Bellator MMA, the American has been on the sidelines looking in for the past year and a half, and after serving as coach and corner-man for his team mates in the past months or so, ‘Donny’ will finally look to build on a 10-7 record he has amassed since 2007.
Shooto staple Takeuchi, has been a veteran of the sport since the turn of the millennium, but hasn’t competed in a pro MMA fight since 2006. Despite eight losses on his resume, the 39-year-old is yet to be stopped by strikes or submission. Furthermore, it’s well-worth noting that the Japanese fighter has only made it to a third round once, in seventeen pro MMA contests.
Vake, from New Zealand, is on a two-fight losing streak after a 2-0 start to his career. The 22-year-old currently plies his trade at Team Quest Thailand alongside the aforementioned Jeremy Kennedy among many others. Vake was scheduled to meet Jumeau in 2013 before a knee injury forced him to face a spell on the sidelines.
Jumeau, 26, looks to get back in the win column as well. A former Legend FC veteran, Jumeau last featured under the AFC banner in a match-up opposite current ‘TUF: Nations’ competitor Jake Matthews, where he dropped a submission setback.
With that, the current PRO FC 9 line-up now includes:
- Jeremy Kennedy vs. Will Chope
- Don Carlo-Clauss vs. Koji Takeuchi
- Luke Jumeau vs. John Vake
