A big change has been made to next week’s KSW 33 in Kraków, Poland as an unfortunate knee injury has forced former title challenger Tomasz Drwal out of the event right in his backyard vs. Aziz Karaoglu. Instead Karaoglu will fight streaking Brazilian Maiquel Falcão.
Maiquel Falcão replaces Drwal vs. Aziz Karaoglu at KSW 33
The replacement was confirmed on KSW’s social media accounts.
Currently riding a a three-fight win streak, Falcão (35-7, 1NC) will look to earn his fourth finish in a row when he takes on the aggressive Karaoglu. Falcão scored a huge knockout of the night win over Bellator MMA veteran Brett “Fudoshin” Cooper at KSW 32 on October 31. Prior to this he took out veteran Jesse Taylor with a first round submission as well as a securing a second round submission over Russia’s Artur Guseinov.
Turkey’s Karaoglu (8-6) may not have the most attractive record or experience on-par with Falcão, but he is no stranger to fact-paced, action-packed fights, as he has only seen the judges once in his 14-fight career. In his previous outing, Karaoglu scored a quick (T)KO win over multi-time KSW title challenger Jay Silva. Prior to his win over Silva, he picked up another quick (T)KO win, this time over Piotr Strus.
KSW 33 in Kraków, Poland takes place on November 28 and it features three huge title fights, including a highly-anticipated main event between friends and two of Poland’s finest as middleweight champion Michal Materla (22-4) will look to defend his title vs. very arguably the hottest prospect in Poland right now; Mamed Khalidov (30-4-2).
This will be Khalidov’s first shot at a championship after nearly five years of fans begging for it.
