Rory MacDonald Injured, Out of UFC 140, Replaced by Claude Patrick

Kelowna B.C. native Rory MacDonald will not be fighting on the UFC 140 card on December 10, 2011 in Toronto, Ontario. MacDonald has been forced to withdraw from the match against Brian Ebersole due to an undisclosed injury which was reported today by the UFC. He will be replaced by another Canadian welterweight fighter  Claude Patrick who also trains at Tristar.

At only 22 years old, MacDonald is one of the most promising prospects in the welterweight division amassing a 3-1 record, only defeated in a close fight against title contender Carlos Condit.  He is coming off one of the biggest wins of his career at UFC 133 when he TKO’d veteran Mike Pyle.

Claude Patrick comes into this fight with a perfect 3-0 UFC record. Most recently beating Cesar Gracie student Daniel Roberts at UFC 129 in April.  Both Patrick and Ebersole are known for their strong, aggressive grappling style and will prove to be an exciting match up.
