7 bouts confirmed for SFL 5

The Super Fight League has announced a 7-bout fight card for its upcoming SFL 5 event which will take place on October 19th, at the SFL Arena in Mumbai, India. Along with SFL 4, SFL 5 will be a part of the new ‘Friday Night Fight Nights’ initiative that was launched late last month, following the resignation of former CEO Ken Pavia.

‘Friday Night Fight Nights’ will see events showcased on a weekly basis, that will carry the following format.

Headlining the SFL 5 card will be Featherweights Lakhwinder Singh and Mohamed Abdel Hamid. The former is a fighter who specializes in Boxing, and has a professional MMA record of 4-0. Singh has already competed twice under the SFL banner. Egyptian Abdel Hamid, in the meantime, will bring a 1-1 resume to the cage and is set to make his promotional debut.

The co-Main event, the only female bout on the fight card, is set to feature a pair of Flyweights in Colleen Schneider and Julia Berezikova. Berezikova is one of the most experienced female fighters on the roster, with a total of 9 professional fights to her credit. The 29-year-old Russian has faced the likes of Strikeforce veteran Julie Kedzie in her MMA career thus far. Colleen Schneider, though, will not be having any cage jitters on October 19th, having already competed in the India-based promotion before. With a professional MMA record  of 1-3, the American may be a slight underdog in this tilt.
