Josh Koscheck Gets His Wish, Faces Carlos Condit Super Bowl Weekend

|

When Dana White announced that Carlos Condit would step aside and Nick Diaz would take his place against Georges St. Pierre on Super Bowl weekend, fans and media alike wondered who Condit would now face. That question was answered at yesterday’s UFC 138 post fight press conference. Dana White spoke about the potential match-up yesterday in jolly ol’ England.

“Right now, Carlos wants to fight. He wants to fight on the same card as GSP and Diaz, so we’ll see what happens. Koscheck has been offered (the fight),” White said.

Koscheck has been itching at the bit to get back into the octagon and even offered to step in to face Condit at UFC 137 on short notice when GSP pulled out due to injury. Unfortunately for Koscheck, the UFC and Condit’s management decided to pull him from the event.

It looks as if calling people out is really favouring the fighters these days. Early yesterday Koscheck took to twitter.

“Hey media wake the fuck up.What top 10 fighters has this kid beat? Don’t see it! #joke http://img.ly/a8zj

Following Dana’s announcement he then went back to twitter. “Yep, when I talk….. i get… Feb 4th weekend Vegas 🙂 I will be fighting!!!!!!!!!!! Thx you DW!”
