When Rousimar Palhares enters the cage you are guaranteed excitement — Last time out he had the infamous scrap with Dan Miller where he prematurely celebrated a victory and fought back from near defeat in a thriller.
This time out, it was excitement non-stop but wasn’t as competitive. Palhares opened early throwing vicious leg kicks that caught Massenzio on the groin.
A quick reset later and he takes Massenzio into his world on the floor and within seconds he caught him in his go-to signature hold the heel hook which has forced six opponents in the past to call it an early night also.
ROUSIMAR PALHARES:
“What a great victory! It’s what I always say when I get in there…if it’s God’s will then it is God’s will. I went in there and got it done. I like submissions and I got another one tonight.”
MIKE MASSENZIO:
“That’s a world-class athlete who was the better fighter tonight. I had the best camp of my career. I just got stuck. It wasn’t my night. I’m really disappointed.”
