Jon Jones Possible to Return at UFC 145 in Atlanta

|

It looks as if UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will put his belt on the line at UFC 145 in Atlanta, Georgia. MMAFighting.com brought the news to the table yesterday.

During Friday night’s UFC on FX post-fight show, Jones stated that he was “hearing rumors” that he would fight in Atlanta at UFC 145. He also said that Rashad Evans, Phil Davis and Dan Henderson are all in the mix.

Come next weekend, the state of his fight could all be put into perspective, as Rashad Evans and Phil Davis square off in the main event of the UFC on Fox 2 card. If Evans beats Davis and has no imminent injuries than he will more than likely be the one to contest for the belt. However, if Davis pulls off an impressive performance and dominates Evans then it could be possible that he gets the shot. UFC President Dana White has not made mention of Davis’ name in the light heavyweight title mix.

The final name on the list is Dan Henderson. If there are injuries in the main event of the UFC on Fox 2 show, then he will be the man to face the current champ Jon Jones.

The rumored UFC 145 fight card…

  • Michael McDonald vs. Miguel Torres
  • Maximo Blanco vs. Marcus Brimage
  • Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin
  • Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills
  • Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub
  • Mark Bocek vs. Matt Wiman
  • Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs
  • John Makdessi vs. Anthony Njokuani
  • Mac Danzig vs. Efrain Escudero
  • Chris Clements vs. Keith Wisniewski
